  1. I learned that:

1 people used to arrest people because of the way they acted, 2 they use the letters A, G, C, T

To identify the chemicals in the body.

3 the use computers to read the DNA and see patterns.

4 there are other forensic scientists like forensic people who investigate poaching, and animal species, study dinosaur bones, or ancient people to learn more about their culture

    And a bonus one;

5 I thought it was cool that they investigated bullets.

  2. Three interesting things I learned:
1.Anything can be evidence such as soil or a plant.
2.DNA is made up of 4 kinds of chemicals and they use 4 letters to identify them, A-G-C-T
3.Scientists are trying to find out king tut, an ancient egyptian ruler, died

  4. Even though most things in that video I learned last year in forensics, There were some new things I learned. I learned that segments of DNA can be broken up into four letters: A, C,G, and T. There are many of tes letters in a strand of DNA and they can be used to identify someone at the crime scene if the letters match another specimen of DNA. I also learned that that paleontology (the study of dinosaurs) ties in with forensics. Forensic scientists study dinosaur fossils to learn more about dinosaurs. Another thing I learned is that forensics doesn’t only involve human DNA research. Scientists also study animal DNA to find out about poaching.

  5. I already knew most of the things from the video, but three interesting things I learned from the video are:

    1. One cool thing I learned from the video is that people would decide if someone was guilty by how they acted.
    2. I learned that scientists separate D.N.A ( Deoxyribonucleic Acid)into four groups, A,G,C,T.
3.I am surprised that they would know there was evidence in soil just by looking at it. I also think it is cool that there are special tools that can extract and color microscopic evidence.
P.S I think the bunny wrecked the classroom

  6. Forensics
    1. Before, people thought they could find out who did a crime by there expressions. But sometimes someone who was innocent was put in prison so they needed a way to figure out if someone was actually guilty or not so that how forensics science was created.
    2. Evidence could be soil, plant, footprints, tire tracks, fibres, bullets and fingerprints.
    3. DNA is created with 4 types of chemicals scientists describe them with 4 different letters A, G, C and T.

  7. Three interesting things I learned from the video are:

I learned that your DNA is made up of 4 chemicals, and that scientist use 4 letters to represent them: A, G, T, and C. For forensics, scientists use complex instruments to take the DNA out of cells. Then they mark the DNA with fluorescent color, and then they put it in into a computer so they can read it.

    2. I learned that before, people used to decided who committed a crime by how they acted. But sometimes innocent people were accused of crimes. So they needed a way to find out who committed a crime based on evidence, and a way to collect evidence.

    3. That's where forensics come in. Forensics can help detectives find out who did the crime, and what happened. Forensic evidence could be things like soil, fibers, plants, tire tracks, footprints, or fingerprints.

  8. 3 interesting things I learned from the video are:

    1. Before they used forensic science, I learned that people used to tell if their suspects committed the crime simply by how they acted. Of course, this means that many people were convicted of crimes they didn't commit.

    2. I learned that DNA is made up of 4 types of chemicals, that scientist identify by using 4 letters: A, G, C, T. They extract the DNA out of the cell, and put it in a computer to be read. Once it's converted into letters, they can then compare the DNA from the crime scene and DNA from their suspect, to see if there's a match.

    3. There are many different things you can do, while still using forensic science. Some of these are: solving poaching crimes, identifying species, studying fossils or dinosaur bones, or looking at remains of ancient people to find out more about their culture or even how they died. Some people are looking at King Tut's remains to try and figure out his cause of death.

  9. The Barefoot Burgler
I think it is Dan the Man because his fingerprint matches the one on the piggy bank and aquarium. His wife also said that whenever she leaves out her chocolate it’s always gone and she thinks her dog eats it but it’s probably actually her husband. If her husband likes to eat chocolate that means he must've ate the chocolate at the crime scene. Dan the Man also likes to stuff baking soda in his pocket which is the white substance at the crime scene. Dan the Man is saving up money for a new bugle so that might be why the piggy bank was broken, he tried smashing it to get the money inside.

  10. Three interesting things I learned from the video are:

#1 One thing that I found interesting was when people used to determine if someone was guilty just by the way that they acted, I think that is completely unfair.

#2 Another thing that I find interesting is that scientists only use A, C, G and T to show the 4 types of chemicals in DNA.

#3 I didn’t think that forensic science would include things like studying dinosaur bones and other history like that.

  12. Three Things that I found interesting

Scientists used to think that people were guilty just by their expressions and how they acted. This caused many innocent people to go to jail for doing nothing.

    2. DNA is in all our organs and contains 4 different chemicals. Scientists use four letters to describe these chemicals. These letters are: “A”, “G”, “C” and “T”. They use complex instruments to take out the DNA from the cells, mark it with fluorescent color and put it into a computer to read it. They see the 4 letters repeating in a specific order.

    3. Not all forensic scientists work on murders and other crimes, some forensic scientists work on poaching and figuring out what species an animal is. Other ones work on dinosaur bones so they can learn how the creatures lived 60 million years ago. There are some forensic scientists working on how King Tut died, which has been a mystery for many, many years.

  13. Barefoot Burglar By: Anderson, Simon and Johann

We accuse Lou Lou because she says she was baking chocolate chip cookies the morning of the crime, but detectives didn’t find any evidence that she was actually baking. Another reason we accuse Lou Lou is because at the scene of the crime a bitten chocolate bar, and Lou Lou is addicted to sweets. Also Lou Lou rarely wears shoes and the thief is barefoot. Being barefooted makes her clumsy and also has a tendency to fall and break her ceramic pigs. Also, she loves sugar and sugar is the only fine powder that dissolves in water.

  14. Forensics

I think the bunny did it

It was interesting when she said the people were judged if they were guilty by how they acted.
It is interesting how she said that anything can be evidence.Such as soil and tire tracks.
It’s interesting how scientists only use the letters A, C, G, and T for DNA. It’s cool how these 4 letters make different combinations and everyone is different.

  15. IT WAS THE BUNNY ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    1. I learnt that they use fibers, plants, and dirt to figure out a crime.

    2. I learnt that they use so many DNA letters to connect people to the crime. I think they use super fast computers that take the DNA pattern and connect it to other DNA patterns that they already analyzed and see if there is a match.

    3. I learnt that they use forensics for other things, too. Like how King Tut died.

  16. I learned that DNA has four different chemicals.(A G C T) and that they find the code by marking “the dna with fluorescent color before putting it in a computer to be rea.”

that Forensic Scientists work on dinosaur bones to find out when the dinosaurs lived along
With other forensics that work to catch poachers or even find out what animal a creature is.

I also didn’t know that people would be put in jail just if they acted in a odd way.

I think the bunny was framed and there has to be a red herring.

  17. Three things we found interesting about the video are:

1: People used to think they could find out if someone was guilty by the way they acted, which means some innocent people got arrested.

2: DNA is in each cell of our body, and is made up of four different types of chemicals represented by random letters of the alphabet. These letters are: A, C, G, and T.

3: Not all forensic investigators work on human related crimes, some scientists work for the Idaho Department for Fish and Game. These investigators help solve crimes related to poaching, or they could help biologists identify precisely what species an animal is.

  18. Clues: A smashed piggy bank and aquarium with fingerprints on them, blue paint and footprints size 10 and ½ inches, chocolate chunk candy with near perfect teeth marks on it and there was a white powdery substance everywhere.

Suspects: Dan the man, Lou Lou, Peg the leg, Jake the jock

-They all bring a white powdery substance everywhere with them

-Lou Lou is the only one said to not wear shoes places, also causing her to often break her ceramic pigs

-Lou Lou is the only one of the suspects that doesn’t have messed up, chipped or missing teeth

-Lou Lou takes sugar everywhere with her (white powdery substance)

-The day of the crime Lou Lou claims she was at her home baking cookies, but there were none left when the police arrived

-Lou Lou is also obsessed with everything sugary, which could explain the chocolate chunk candy bar

My verdict: Lou Lou must have commit the crime because she matches everything in the clues, and I eliminated the other suspects when it came to the candy bar and the no-shoes thing.

  19. How to Solve the Barefoot Burglar
First off, we started with the teeth impressions. It showed that the person must’ve had spaces in between their teeth. This eliminates Lou Lou and Peg the Leg (her teeth are messed up, but there aren’t spaces between them). Then, we looked at the fingerprints. Jake the Jock’s fingerprints don’t match the fingerprint shown, therefore eliminating him, and leaving us with one suspect: Dan the Man. Another way we can prove that it was Dan the Man is the Powder Analysis. In the crime scene it said that there was an odorless substance that bubbles when mixed with vinegar, we looked up what bubbles when mixed with vinegar and it said baking soda. Then we looked at Dan the Man’s profile and we noticed that Dan the man likes to carry baking soda around, which is just more proof that Dan the Man did the crime.
