Enrique Iglesias - Stand By Me (LIVE)

Watch the above video. How might the lyrics apply to being a bystander (in terms of bullying)?  Have you ever intervened when someone was being bullied and if so what did you do?

  1. The lyrics are always saying stand by me, I think that that means a victim wants a bystander to interveen and stop the mean bully. Yes i have interveened when someone was being bullied, what i did was ( not neccesarily the right thing) pick him up and take him away over my shoulder, this was at my old school, and i ussually interveened when bullies got to hot headed

  2. Stand by me is like a bystadnder because if someone is getting bullied stand by him so you can help the person getting bullied. I have only stopped family members from fighting, thats different.

  3. 'Stand By Me' by Enrique Iglesias is similar to being a bystander because it (kind of) symbolizes that if sombody is being bullied, that you should stand up to the bully and stand by the victim.

  4. The lyrics; "Stand By Me" might apply to be a bystander because whover is being bullied needs help by you standing by them and standing up to the bully(s) together.
No, I don't think I have intervened when someone was being bullied.

  5. I think the part of the song saying "stand by me" is like the victim of the bullying saying to please stand by him or stand up for him is more like it. I haven't really been around bullying much and I think if I did I didn't interven because I would have remembered.

  7. I think the lyrics apply to bystanders because the song says "stand by me" it represents the way you can stand up for bullied kids who are as innocent as the next person so having friends is a way of saying: "back off bully!" I don't think I have intervened when someone was being bullied so I that means things go well.

I think a) it's a good song and 2 it is supposed to mean that when someone is being bullied you stand by them. By the way you have no Name/URL or anonymous...

  9. My friend Shawn always intervened when I was being bullied, but no other people are bullied that I see.

  10. I think that the person was trying to make the others realize what people feel like when they are getting bullied. I have beern both the bystander and the victim of bullying. When I was the bystander, I teased the bully untill he came after me, which gave my friend some time to tell a teacher (not that the teacher really helped).

  12. I think that it relates to a bystander because if someone is being bullied, they can stand with someone so they know they are not alone. My friend was bullied because she was a slow runner, so I confronted them and said that I was a slow runner too. (which I am)
