Sentence Imitation

Trees flew through the air like laundry from a clothes line.  Other stuff too - rocks, branches, an old rowboat. A flurry of pink flags whipped past my eyes.

    Many things burnt- buildings, trees, the new hospital.
    A stream of ashes rushed past my ears.

  2. Ice soared past us like we were in a giant snowglobe. Other stuff too- branches, hats from people's heads, a small snowman. A hurricane of white snowflakes made it hard to see.

    Chubs soared through the trees like a big black airplane. Other stuff too- leaves, beat-boxing pandas, Chubs jr. Two silver feet landed on my head and knocked me over.

    I hope that all the Gr.5 girls get the part about the beat-boxing panda!

  3. Waves crashed through the flood gates like Americans when the stores open on Black Friday. Other debris too - fish, twigs, an old shoe. A chorus of screams filled my ears.

  4. Houses soared across the sky like ducks fleeing from a stray soccer ball. Smaller stuff too - trucks, trees, garbage cans. A murmuration of severed branches flew just in front of my face.

  5. Ice chunks fell from the sky like gigantic snowflakes. Everything around was yet to be battered - luxury cars, flowers in full bloom, toys that were left out. People scrambled to cover and protect their belongings.

  6. Soldiers ran through the town like a hive of bees. Other people too- bakers, policemen, and small children. A crowd of people in handcuffs stomped past my house as the soldiers knocked down my door.

  11. 1. Snow covered everything like a cold, frosty blanket. Everything had a sheet of ice on it- cars, streets, my nose. A flurry of snow from the roof hit me in the face as I was walking home.

    2. Flames rose around me like a bright wall. I used everything I could find to take out the fire- mud, leaves, my sweater. A flurry of sparks burned into my skin, but it didn't hurt at all.

    Beth and anyone else that knows Beth and me's story should get the reference of #2.

  16. # 1 Smoke curled from the dragon's mouth like a coil of grey ribbon. The flame destroyed everything - a patch of bright flowers, small animals, a leftover sword from a forgotten battle. A group of knights pushed past me, swords aimed at the beast.

    # 2 Bruise-like rings covered my arms and legs like thirsty leeches. Other people too - a baker, a mechanic, a surprised old man. Med-droids swarmed me, lifting me onto a gurney and wheeling me away to the quarantines.

    Lots of things sucked in like a tornado on a on a plain field. Tons of objects- people, tools, an astronaut helmet. A blizzard of meteorites flew in the black hole

  20. A wall of heat hit me like an actually wall, as I walked outside. Everything was dying from the heat - flowers, grass, even the leaves on trees. A tired, dehydrated stray cat leaped right past me on the sidewalk.
