    1. She doesn't mean the book or movie MENTIONED a red herring. She meant: Have you seen a movie or read a book with a misleading clue or distraction from what's really happened?

  3. I once read a book in the Warrior (The Cat one) series, where mysteriously this one cat had been killed and left in the river. Because he was in the river, the murderer's scent was washed away.( This was before, he was going to tell everyone about Squirrel Flight's secret.) So, when Squirrel Flight comes up after they find the body, I was thinking Squirrel flight killed him because she had a motive and was out at the time of the murder. Later, it turns out it was someone else. That was one red herring I've read about.

  5. Yes, I most likely have seen a movie or read a book with a red herring in it. I just don’t remember what they were.

  6. I haven't read a book about a red herring (n.) but I have read a book with a red herring, as in the distracting something e.g. a clue. I don't remember it much but... Hmm... A few books I've read have people framing each other, but I forget what the books are called.

  9. Yes, I have watched/read several books and movies with red herrings in them. I can remember only one of book off the top of my head right now. However, it was a book with alot of red herrings in it. The book was “The Westing Game”. Throughout the book, most of the partners had a red herring at some point. For example, Sydelle and Angela thought that when the will said “The object of the game: to win.” it was disguising the fact that the culprit was a twin, but you find out later that the will meant what it said. Also, it is a really good story because it throws some red herrings at the reader as well, for example, Sydelle is wearing a dress with purple waves on it, but it actually doesn’t have anything to do with the culprit. As well as the “The Westing Game”, I have read and watched many other things with red herring in them including Agatha Christie mysteries.

  10. By the first meaning, no. But by the second meaning, the first thing that I can remember is that when I was small or when my brother was watching Treehouse. There was this episode (I think franklin or something like that) where they were solving a mystery about who picked someones flower, they were looking at the wrong clues.
Be careful of the red herring.

  11. Hmmmmmmm...I believe I have read books with red herrings in them, but for some reason I can't remember any except for one! 'The Westing Game!' As you know, in the book, there is a 'Red Herring' clue. The clue is found by Angela and Sydelle, and the clue is thought to be that the sentence "The object of the game: to win," actually means "The Object of the game: Twin," but it turns out it doesn't have a secondary meaning. If we are talking about movies, I cannot recall any, apart from maybe 'Citizen Kane,' which is an awesome movie, that I would recommend watching!!!

  12. Well by the first meaning no, I don't believe I have and plus I would not really focus on a fish in the book, but whatever. Lets see..... oh yeah the other meaning I have read a book like that it was called "The Westing game". In the story the come across many "red herrings"

  14. I don't think that I have came across any books with red herrings (the fish) inside it. By the second meaning, I don't really remember any books with misleading facts or stuff like that, I have not read any books with the red herring clue.
